Fort Cornwallis

Built in the late 18th century, Fort Cornwallis is among Penang’s oldest surviving colonial fortifications. Its star-shaped earthworks and walls recall the founding era of British Penang. Facing the sea and linked to the Esplanade and Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, it is ideal for a stroll or guided visit to understand George Town’s origins as a trading port.
